The Cabin Hong Kong is an Effective and Affordable Cocaine Rehab Centre for Hong Kong Residents

Since the mid-2000s, cocaine use in Hong Kong has been on the rise and is now widely accepted as a common party drug. Inevitably, cocaine addiction and the need for cocaine rehab are on the rise as well.

Why is Cocaine Addiction Prevalent in Hong Kong?

Long work hours and high-stress jobs often lead professionals to turn to cocaine in order to let loose on the weekend. Predominantly used by wealthy people as the cost is much higher than other drugs such as ecstasy, marijuana or methamphetamines, cocaine addiction is fairly common among professionals with high paying jobs and elite status.

Effects of Cocaine Addiction

Both short- and long-term effects of cocaine use can be detrimental to the body and mind, and include the following:

  • Irritability
  • Paranoia
  • Anxiety/ restlessness
  • Increased heart rate
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Constricted blood vessels
  • Dilated pupils
  • Increased risk of disease of the heart, stomach, kidneys and liver
  • Increased risk of strokes and seizures
  • Damage to nasal passages
  • Personality changes including aggression, psychosis, depression, insomnia and suicidal thoughts

Beyond physical and psychological effects as listed above, cocaine addiction is an expensive habit and many users may find that their financial situation suffers. As well, job loss and strained relationships are other common side effects of cocaine use as personality changes occur, making it difficult for the addict to maintain their composure at work and with friends, family and loved ones.

Types of Cocaine Rehab and Treatment Centres

There are two main types of rehab centres that can treat cocaine addiction – inpatient and outpatient. In general, outpatient treatment centres work similar to a doctor’s office where clients come and go for scheduled appointments.

On the other hand, inpatient or residential cocaine rehab centres require the client to live on the premises for the duration of their treatment. From one week to several months, clients at these facilities have access to 24-hour care. This type of rehab is typically reserved for those addicts who are very deep into their addiction and must get away from their regular routine in order to fully focus on recovery.

What are the Benefits of an Outpatient Cocaine Rehab Centre?

Many professionals suffering from cocaine addiction are reluctant to seek help, as they fear that once their addiction is common knowledge they will lose respect, and quite possibly their career. However, at The Cabin Hong Kong’s outpatient cocaine rehab, professionals can undergo addiction treatment in complete privacy while still meeting their work and familial obligations.

Outpatient rehab centres are designed specifically to be as non-disruptive in a person’s life as possible. For people who have strong professional or family obligations, addiction treatment can be scheduled in the evenings, around other obligations, in order to make the move towards recovery as easy as possible.

In addition to the benefits of a convenient schedule, The Cabin Hong Kong’s outpatient cocaine rehab also offers the following:

  • A convenient location in the city centre, making it easy to get to all scheduled appointments.
  • The ability to live at home during treatment, meaning that clients can maintain work and family obligations, as well as receive support from family and loved ones during this difficult process.
  • Personal and group counselling sessions which make up the majority of our outpatient programme and provide an excellent environment for sharing your story and learning about addiction as well as getting the one-on-one help you need to battle your own personal experiences with the disease.
  • Complete confidentiality as the key to ensuring all clients can rest at ease and fully focus on their recovery.
  • Flexible hours which ensure that even the busiest of clients can make time for their own recovery.

Recovery Zones: A Unique Cocaine Addiction Treatment Programme That Really Works

The Cabin Hong Kong offers an intensive Recovery Zones treatment programme designed to successfully treat all forms of addiction. Combined with cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness meditation and the best of the 12 Steps, it is a unique programme that has proven to be very successful in treating cocaine addiction.

All sessions take place during evening hours through the week so that clients can maintain their personal obligations while still receiving the treatment and care they need to beat their addiction. To start, clients will be encouraged to book one individual session and 2 to 3 group sessions per week. During these sessions, all clients will be taught how to identify triggers, how to do deal with those triggers without using cocaine, and of course, how to maintain a life of recovery without relapse.
Over the course of the 6-month treatment programme, weekly sessions will be tapered off, eventually to one per week, at a speed which mirrors each client’s individual progress rate.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment

Many addicts have underlying mental health issues which must be taken care of during addiction treatment in order to prevent relapse later on. When someone suffers from various mental health disorders such as anxiety, personality disorders or post-traumatic stress disorder among others, it is not uncommon for them to self-medicate with drugs or alcohol in order to suppress their feelings. In these cases, the underlying disorder must be treated simultaneously. This will all be discussed during the initial consultation when our experienced counsellors create a personalised treatment path for each client.

Surrounding yourself with peers at least once a week and continuing counselling as needed will help you maintain the life of recovery you have built. As well, it is recommended that you find a sponsor – someone who is also in recovery and who can help you when you feel yourself slipping.
Of course, we are always just a phone call away and encourage all past clients to call us whenever they are having doubts about their recovery.
